미국 하바드 대학교 도서관에 걸린 30훈 

1. 지금 잠을 자면 꿈을 꾸지만, 지금 공부하면 꿈을 이룬다
   Sleep now, you will be dreaming. Study now,
   you will be achieving your dream.

2. 헛되이 보낸 오늘은 어제 죽은 이가 하루 더 살고 싶어
   그렇게 갈망하던 내일이다
   Today that you wasted today is the tomorrow
   that a dying person wished to live.

3. 늦었다고 생각했을 때가 가장 빠른 때이다
   When you think it's to late for you to start,
   it is the earliest time you can.
 
4. 오늘 할 공부를 내일로 미루지 마라
   Don't postpone today's work to tomorrow.
 
5. 공부할 때의 고통은 잠깐이지만, 못 배운 고통은 평생간다
   The pain of study is only for a moment,
   but the pain of not having studied is forever.
 

6. 공부하는 데 부족한 것은 시간이 아니라 노력이다
   In study, it's not the lack of time, but lack of effort.

7. 행복은 성적순이 아닐지 몰라도, 성공은 분명히 성적순이다
   Happiness is not proportional to the academic achievement,  
   but success is.
 
8. 공부가 인생의 전부는 아니다. 그러나 인생의 전부도 아닌
   공부 하나를 정복하지 못하면 무슨 일을 할 수 있겠는가
   Study is not everything in life, but if you are unable to
   conquer study that's only a part of life,
   what can you be able to achieve in life?

9. 피할 수 없는 고통이라면 차라리 즐겨라
   You might as well enjoy the pain that you can not avoid.
 
10.남보다 더 일찍, 더 부지런히 노력해야 성공을 맛 볼 수 있다
   To taste success, you shall be earlier and more diligent.
  

11.성공은 아무나 하는 것이 아니다.
   철저한 자기 관리와 노력으로 이뤄진다.
   Success doesn't come to anyone,
   but it comes to the self-controlled and the hard-working.

12.시간은 지금도 흘러 가고 있다
   The time never stops.
 
13.지금 흘린 침은 내일 흘릴 눈물이 된다
   Saliva you drooled today will be tears falling tomorrow.
 
14.개같이 공부해서 정승같이 놀아라
   Study like a dog and play like a premier.
 
15.오늘 걷지 않으면 내일 뛰어야 한다
   If ou don't walk today, you have to run tomorrow.

16.현실에 충실한 것이 미래에 대비하는 것이다.
   person who invest in tomorrow is
   the person who is faithful to today.

17.학벌이 바로 돈이다
   The academic clique is money itself.

18.오늘 보낸 하루는 내일 다시 돌아오지 않는다
   Today never returns again tomorrow.

19.지금 이 순간에도 너의 적(친구)의 책장은 넘어가고 있다
   At this moment, your enemies books keep flipping.

20.고통이 없으면 얻는 것도 없다
   No pains, No gains.

21.꿈이 바로 앞에 있는데, 왜 그 꿈을 향해 팔을 뻗지 않는가
   Dream is just in front of you. Why not stretch your arm.

22.지금 눈을 감으면, 미래를 향한 눈도 닫긴다
   If you close your eyes to the present,
   the eyes for the future close as well.

23.멍청히 졸 바에야 차라리 자라
   Sleep instead of dozing.
 
24.성적은 투자한 시간의 절대량에 비례한다
   Academic achievement is directly proportional
   to the absolute amount of time invested.
 
25.위대한 일은 남들이 자고 있을 때 이뤄진다
   Most great achievements happen while others are sleeping.

26.지금 헛되이 보내는 이 시간이 시험을 코 앞에 둔 시점에서
   얼마나 절실하게 느껴지겠는가
   Just before the examination, how desperate would you feel
   the time you are wasting now.

27.불가능이란 노력하지 않는 자의 변명이다
   Impossibility is the excuse made by the untried.

28.노력의 대가는 보상 없이 사라지지 않는다
   The payoff of efforts never disappear without redemption.
 
29.오늘 걷지 않으면 내일은 뛰어야 한다
   If you don't walk today, you have to run tomorrow.

30.한 시간 더 공부하면 결혼할 여자의 얼굴이 바뀌고(미인),
   더 좋은 남편을 얻는다.
   One more hour of study, you will have a better wife or husband
